Bidrage med feedbackBanner elk cafe tavern shares their kitchen with the lodge so you get to choose from 2 different menus. Banner elk breakfast ends at 11 and their lunch starts at 11:30 so youll be given the lodge menus if you arrive between 11 and 11:30. I recommend asking for the banner elk menu as well if you are seated between 11 and 11:30 to see more food options. This is probably the best place youll find in banner elk, has cozy ambience and a lot of seating options. So prepare for waiting for a table and also for the food on weekends. Our group of 5 had to wait about 25 mins for a table. Once you have your name on the waitlist, they have an online wait tracker which helps. Coffee: I personally enjoyed my toffee coffee but like others in my party mentioned to me- the coffee itself was very mild, felt more like a milk drink. Food: There is a veggie burger not on menu but it's the beyond burger type patty, not black bean. My veggie friends opted for the thai chili wrap which they enjoyed. Curly fries were fantastic. The blackened mahi in the sandwich was good, sandwich overall was on the blander side. I would love to try their breakfast items next time i am in the area.
The banner elk cafe shares the same kitchen as the lodge. We were sat immediately in the lodge area which was very cozy. Our server was very helpful explaining the two menus they have. They have something for everyone. The lunch special open faced turkey sandwich was at least three portions and so tasty. The turkey was cooked to perfect and the sandwich bread they used reminded me of a lobster roll. The blacken chicken sandwich was also cooked wonderfully and well seasoned with a great spicy sauce. The sweetness of the potato fries were nice to balance out the heat from the chicken. I will definitely return to this place for a great brunch/lunch spot!
Just stopped for a coffee and danish. Asked what was in one of the danishes and was told I think apple and cinnamon maybe didn 't bother to ask one of the many other people working. Ordered 2 pastries and 2 Cuban coffees. Pastries were cold and given to us in plastic to go containers even though we told her we 're eating there. Coffees took about 10 minutes and also cold and definitely not a Cuban. She clearly had no clue what she was doing. Please train your employees.
We ordered at the bar to-go and ate at the tables outside. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I really enjoyed my egg and cheese biscuit sandwich. I also tried their snickeroo coffee which was great!
The Lodge is conveniently located on the Main Street in Banner Elk. Two restaurants join together to offer a very broad selection of lunch and dinner choices (with Banner Elk Cafe). From sandwiches and salads to pizza and comfort food, pretty much anything you could want. It is very kid friendly so a great choice for families and groups. The place is somewhat confusing given the two restaurants. Servers provide two separate menus to order from. You think this is confusing to the customer? Just watch the server! Orders do not always come out together or correctly tho the servers do their very best to overcome the awkwardness of ordering and serving from two restaurants. All in all a good choice for a casual lunch or dinner.
