Bidrage med feedbackAn unplanned lunch exploring HSR led us to Gustum. And were we pleasantly surprised : The place is on the 4th floor of the building with access via elevator as well as stairs..the entrance is slightly dominated by a massive Theobroma at the ground floor. With the layout split into two floors in a a very open floor plan, you can choose to sit closer to the edge overseeing the road or the mezzanine floor of sorts above which is slightly more tucked away. Food was really good. We initially weren't sure what we want to order so went with a started and a mini Sadhya. The menu is a good mix Indian delicacies. Not a very long menu to confuse you Post the order, we were given a basket of papdam while we waiter. This was mix of two full roasted masala papad , broken into halves, accompanied with small fried papads. There were a dozen fried curry leaves as well to elevate the taste. Served with a beetroot chutney, a tamarind chutney and some mayo type of creamy thing, it was quickly an empty basket.. The starter was called a Sikkimise Spicy Chicken Wings. Not very oily, and with 5 to 6 pcs, it was quite tasty. Spice level is a bit subjective so cant say much about it being less or too spicy. The way I look it, we didnt have to drink water to pacify the heat. The presentation was really good coming on a banana leaf. The Sadhya was really awesome. Dals Sambhar both had a very homely taste and all the accompanying vegetables were reminding of sadhya from a friend's place. The rice was similar to a fresh harvest red matta rice we had last Onam at our community event which was brought from a resident's farms in Kerala. Very tasty indeed. We had to rush at the end for some work so couldn't try the payasam but am sure it would have been equally amazing. We are definitely coming back and hope other will also njoy this amazing place and recommend more of what they liked
Exceptional experience at Gustum! Embarked on a culinary adventure through Google Maps and discovered Gustum – a gastronomic gem! Our journey commenced with a delightful surprise – a complimentary Papadam basket accompanied by an array of flavorful chutneys – an inviting prelude to the feast. A symphony of flavors awaited in the form of a delectable soup, reminiscent of the South Indian delicacy, Sodhi, crafted with rich coconut milk – an exquisite start to our culinary voyage. The starters, Vazhapoo Kilangu Cutlet and Hyderabadi Chicken Samosey, were a harmonious blend of innovation and tradition. The simplicity of the Samosey belied their delightful taste. Venturing into the main course, we savored the classics – Kerala Parotta, Ghee Rice, Pot-Egg Roast, and Malabar Veg Kuruma. The Parottas were a timeless delight, while the Ghee Rice, laden with ghee and nuts, offered a luxurious yet indulgent experience. The Pot Egg Roast, with its simplicity and elegance, complemented both the Parottas and Ghee Rice flawlessly. The Malabar Veg Kuruma, a culinary masterpiece, proved to be a delightful challenge to finish – a testament to its generous portion size. Gustum's ambiance is full of greenery, creating a tranquil rooftop haven. Ideal for family gatherings, friendly rendezvous, or intimate dates. While the cost may lean towards the higher side, the culinary journey at Gustum is an investment in unparalleled flavors and a unique dining atmosphere. Highly recommend this culinary haven for at least one unforgettable experience.
Nice place, good food, ambience, service. I must say thanks to the guy who was there, Mr.Joyce. he helped us in ordering the food and was very polite with us. Must try Rawa fried Prawns Mango mixed fish curry
GUSTUM has Kerala cuisine mostly. The railway mutton Shanky curry was good. The ambience and service were good. Nothing too extraordinary, but overall the experience was good.
Just Wow! We ordered Kerala Vegetarian Relishing Platter (enough for 2 people) The taste and presentation of all the dishes were great. TBH, I didn't expect it to be that good but I was blown away by the quality and presentation. Highly recommended!
