Bidrage med feedbackI took my entire family to this restaurant and they were able to accommodate my son's request for a plain roti. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
After visiting the Apotheke, we tried the chicken rice dish and both really enjoyed it. It had a nice Asian street food vibe that we felt comfortable with.
Went to the food mall for a quick bite before getting back to my bus. Saw this place and said what the heck. I had basmati rice with peas and curried eggplant. Rice was fluffy and favored well and eggplant was seasoned well with a bit of a kick. Don't normally see Sri Lankan food and I was pleasantly surprised. Give it a chance.
6 years living in Banff now, I know all the best places to eat. Tastes of Sri lanaka used to be the "go-to" for a good curry hit. This is no longer. The new owners are polite yes, but the business has changed for the worse. I'm sure their new business going for Latin American food will be great, but their curry has declined in spice and especially serving. I couldn't believe today the size of the portion, the mother of the owners gave me. And for 13 dollars? I know a lot of business' rip off tourists, but to a local in work clothes? I mean cmon. I enjoy the eggplant curry for sure it's great! But this service is rubbish and ripping people off with terrible portions is just dumb business. Because of this, my whole work crew and friends will hear of the bad experience. If you're reading his Taste of SriLanka, remember the clients satisfaction is the most important thing, especially locals! I won't eat here anymore, and that's saying something, as I ate here often for the past year.
I eat here every time I go to Banff from Calgary and head straight for the Eggplant Curry. It is out of this world.
