Bidrage med feedbackWe were staying at the hotel and super hungry and didn't want to go to the main shopping area to find a restaurant so...Bumpers! I had a bison burger which was fine (except the bun was very hard/stiff). My wife got the chicken gumbo. Not particularly tasty and more like chicken vegetable soup. The salad bar was okay...reminded me of a pizza hut salad bar. The service was polite, but slow. Overall, it was fine but I doubt we'll return.
My wife and I had High Tea at the Fairmount so we didn't need a fancy dinner. We ordered a bison burger, that came with a salad bar. My wife ate the salad, I ate the burger, and it was all fantastic! total bill was $24.00 with tip.
Since the 6 of us wanted to tried the Alberta beef, a local friend has highly recommended this restaurant to us. We have ordered their Prime Rib and what a major disappointment!! All 6 of us could not cut through the prime rib because our pieces had too much tendon. The sauce was tasty but the cut was way below standard. I can go to any steak house and have better prime rib,We have raised our concern to our waiter and he said that regretfully, we were not the only guests that have similar experience on that evening. Maybe, as a courtesy, if the waiter knew that was a general problem for that night, maybe, just maybe he should have let us know when we order!?
We arrived about 20 minutes before breakfast stopped being served and Bruce our server was simply delightful. The belgian waffles my husband ordered with prepared just right and my Traditional Breakfast was enormous with perfect bacon, crispy potatoes and delicious baked beans. We only ate the one breakfast here, but we really enjoyed that meal.
Stopped in at Bumpers after a very cold day of skiing for an early dinner...so glad we did!The main dining room wasn't open yet but that didn't bother us. We were quite content to have our drinks & meals in the lounge area. Very comfy chairs, warm fireplace & friendly service all added to the enjoyable atmosphere. We both had their prime rib sandwich served on garlic focaccia bread. Prime rib was the best we've had in years! Even the French fries were awesome...so good in fact, I was almost sorry I had ordered baked potato with my meal, but was fortunate that hubby had lots to share! Will be sure to return on our next visit to Banff.
