Bidrage med feedbackVida Taco Bar has a nice setting and beautiful open windows looking out on the water. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. For my appetizer I ordered the queso which I was hesitant about because everyone doesn’t make great queso BUT it was so fresh and not to thick and packed with flavor. The chips paired with the queso so I definitely would get again. Now the Tacos ? I alway get a variety of tacos because it’s very fun, lol. First, I ordered the Seared Scallops which was packed with flavor. Second taco I ordered was a Thai Basil Shrimp which was also pretty good. The third taco was the soft shell crab and the sauce was definitely my favorite the crunch from the deep fry was really good. My only con was of your not fond of eating the whole shell this isn’t a taco for you. I couldn’t eat the whole thing but it had nothing to do with the flavors it was more of a texture thing.I also ordered me a drink I ordered the Vida Spicy with a shot of Casamigo. Unless you love and can down a spicy hot drink this is not for you, I wasn’t to fond of it but I drank it because who wants to waste liquor lol.All in all I would go back to try other tacos and drinks.
Okay, so we gave this place a try because we heard the margaritas and tacos are good. We got a pitcher, it did not meet any of our expectations, tasted like lime juice. We loved the Corn Bite!
The tacos are legit and the nachos are amazing (carne asado, sweet potato, cauliflower-three different tacos). The prices are high though, guacamole for two that appears to be made with a single avocado is $12. For two people that's a serving size, but the mark up is insane! Also, 20% is added on for gratuity, which I think makes all the waitstaff responsible for everyone-naturally it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. The armosphere was fun and lively, without being wild. It was strange to hear two different sets of music playing at the same time.My friend loved the purple drank.
Vida Taco Bar is located in a prime location at The Point with great views and a good atmosphere. I dined outside to enjoy the nice weather. Service was well paced starting with drinks and appetizers. The Purple Drink is a very tasty blend of sangria and margarita, and has a nice punch to it. My favorite appetizer was the grilled corn bites, which is a remix of eloté. It was actually the best thing I tasted at the restaurant. The blend of smoked paprika, chilli powder and other seasonings mixed with crema and cotija cheese are perfection. I like that it was cut into bit sized pieces. The chips and dips were good also. The tacos are designer as the manager called them and were sufficient in comparison to my preference of authentic style street tacos. The best of the trio I had was the scallop taco because they were prepared perfectly as a scallop should be and I even enjoyed the included toppings. The thai shrimp has amazing flavor. The pulled chicken was just ok. Alternative options of flour, corn or lettuce wraps are provided for dietary accommodations.Overall, Vida is a great spot for the ambiance, drinks and corn if nothing else. I would return for those reasons and the service alone.
Vida has quickly become one of the worst places for Tacos. The service has drastically declined since the change in management! I would recommend finding a different place for tacos.
