Balnarring Beach General Store

This is a fantastic spot for a quick bite, especially for those on a budget like myself. The prices are affordable and the service is fast.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant after a day at the beach. It is not your typical fish and chip shop in the suburbs. My wife tried the fish tacos, while my son and I had the beer battered barramundi. Everything was cooked perfectly - crispy batter, juicy fish, crunchy chips and potato cakes, along with South Melbourne market dim sims. They also offer an amazing Asian slaw. We can't wait to return next time we are in the area. Highly recommend trying this place. Just a heads up, it is now called Tulum General Store on maps.

We decided to grab fish and chips from the Balnarring Beach General Store based on the recommendation of our host. The building is pretty basic and it was quiet on the evening we visited. We waited while our food was cooked to order, before scooting back to our accommodation to tuck in.

Amazing hamburgers always. Wander across to the beach and eat your burger looking over Westernport. When camping in the foreshore reserve, this is my go to food for total fireban days. Also, they sell Boscastle pies for the next fireban day! The Balnarring fish and chips shop in the shopping centre is better for f&c.

The fresh blue grenadier fish was delicious, the potato cakes were just okay, but the chips were unfortunately soggy. The staff were very friendly.
