The Highlanders Bakehouse - Ballater

She stayed here shortly after the descent of the Lochnagar Mountains. I have a (massive bowl) of piping hot apple and petersnip suppe with a mountain of brot and a coffee. what was fantastic. personal, where warm and friendly this is a great wee find. 10/10

Best damn food around. Clever, quality food in the homiest, warm/welcoming and personable of environments. Each detail is well thought through. Had we found it earlier, we would have skipped all the cafes in Ballater. Looking forward to coming back!

Stopped by for lunch today. Absolutely fabulous! So friendly and welcoming! The hot chocolate is delicious! I ordered the spicy veggie burger. It was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had! While sitting for lunch, they have blankets and heaters to keep you warm…and even brought around hot water bottles to keep your lap warm! Never have I had this sort of experience. Unique, very tasty, lovely people. Going back for breakfast on our way out of town. A must stop if you are in the area!

Lovely bacon and egg roll. Good cup of coffee. Will be back. Recommended. Not sure about salad with my bacon roll but that's maybe just me. Hard standing outside for motorbikes all within easy sight of seating area.

A welcome sight after our afternoon trek up to Prince Albert's Cairn. Excellent service and extremely cosy, thanks to numerous throws and surprisingly, hot water bottles. The hot chocolate is to die for (nice added touch with roasted marshmallows!! . The lemon meringue swirl was deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious. Cant rate highly enough
