The Forge Pizzeria - BALLARAT CENTRAL

We were in town five nights and ate in once and got takeaway once. My gauge of good pizza is the Margherita, it has none of the frippery that has become the hallmark of the 'gourmet pizza', a few simple ingredients, and nowhere for the chef to hide. Crust, cheese and sauce were all spot on.It was fantastic and the other pizza we ordered was just as good. When we ate in we both had the Minestrone soup which was served with a whole round of pizza bread and was also good. This place is obviously a huge local destination and what could be a crowded debacle is a good natured crowd, well managed by the floor staff, all obviously enjoying both the food and the location. This place to me accomplishes everything that I would expect from a local Italian destination and is a great place to eat.

This place is amazing TWO (2) wood fired pizza ovens! Fantastic pizza menu with pasta and desserts! Staff are efficient and the atmosphere is great! NOT BYO but, they have a great selection. Love, Love, Love this place...

The service is always excellent, the pizzas are amazing especially the Shearers pizza and the pumpkin salad is delicious.

We visited this restaurant last year and our second visit last night was again amazing. My husband had the pork belly pizza and said it was very good! The crackling on it was amazing! Even the Margarita pizza was unbelievably good. The staff friendly and fast, the place is buzzing.

We went here in September of last year when some friends came down from New South Wales and from its humble beginnings in Alfredton it really has grown and deservedly so.An Italian restaurant catering mainly with pizza that are very nice.The only thing I didn't like about it was this new idea of sitting on tables with people you don't know which makes it difficult to share private conversations or hear.But at the end of the day that is my only gripe.Food was as always excellent and it was packed.Otherwise all good. Go!
