Bidrage med feedbackThe cafe is a necessary stop even for a cold drink on a hot day visit - we stopped for a light lunch and found the food was hot and fresh and very reasonably priced. All served in paper so very takeaway though - the staff were nice - it would help them to draw attention to their gift tin as I offered a tip but the girl only shrugged... (I found it later). It was unpleasantly warm & without ceiling fans the plastic shades should have been raised to let the breeze in - we were sweating once we left and were glad to be outside...
Typical kiosk type food offering you'd expect at an attraction of this type. Certainly does offer some more quality options with coffee being good according to my partner. Very reasonably priced, don't expect it to be open for hot food later than your typical lunch hours - it won't be! Certainly a reasonable option and if you're doing a visit over lunch I'd suggest it's a good option that warrants me not packing a picnic like I would at other more expensive places. Cleverly built with a gate and up on a deck to ensure the native wildlife does not tuck into your lunch!
We ordered a hotdog with fries, hotdog come in a bread roll with a cheap sausage with sauce $5.00, cant remember how much the fries were, but they were cool and bland like they were sitting their for ages. Coffee was also pricey, as well as the drinks. Next time we will pack a picnic instead.
I've eaten here with my son on several ovcassions and normally eat either a wrap or and sandwich with some chips. Quite a a basic kiosk style menu but always enough to choose from. Their chips are just amazing and a real credit to them for representing australia to the hordes of foreign tourists they serve with something as simple as chips. There soups are often tasty and fulfilling and the sandwiches and the like have always been fresh. There is definitely room for growth in the cafe but what they do is done well. Prices are average and serves are generous. Service is basic yet friendly and prompt. The whole park is a family run business and this is evident by the pleasant experience we enjoy when we visit.
Having spent the morning at the wildlife park in which the cafe is situated, we were not planning to stay for lunch as we anticipated it would be over-priced. We were pleasantly surprised however. As we were not very hungry we shared a portion of potato wedges and sour cream and a sweet chilli chicken wrap. Both were a good size and filled us nicely. The price was about average for a cafe/bakery and the food was hot and tasty. The cafe also does some special offers on certain combinations which were also good value for money going by our experience of the food.
