The Gate Cafe - Balclutha

Always a great place to stop, for a pot of tea and a nibble.

I had time to spare and so popped in for a chai latte and muesli slice. Service with a smile and prompt service made for a nice visit. I bought one of their big muffins to take away. YUM.

I do like this place, we have been many times for brunch. The last time was a little disappointing as my husband got his food then mine came out 15 min later. But other than that it has great food.

18 of us popped in for brunch on our way home from Pounawea and were not disappointed! Incredible food and super quick considering the size of our group. The best part about this cafe is the service. The ladies serving us were so lovely and made sure everyone was happy with their meals. If you're passing through Balclutha, you cannot drive past The Gate cafe!!
