Chalet Basque - Bakersfield

Doesn't live up to the Basque fine dining experience! Meat is either over cooked or under cooked. They use vegetable oil in their salad dressing and vegetable dressing instead of olive oil. The food is very underwhelming for the price.

Just had lunch and meeting, also meet the owners..Great people and great food!! We will definitely go back again to enjoy!!

Came in NYE night, had reservations. Waited 30 mins for table which was fine because bar has a good atmosphere. Our waiter was so rude we thought it was a joke. Didn’t take our drink order or offer appetizers, just pointed at us one by one for our dinner order. Steaks were all served less than rare, everyone asked for medium. Fish was so overcooked it was hard to swallow, was served with a cold mayonnaise sauce on the side . Had to ask for french fries which were cold, never had refills on water. Never offered dessert. Just an all around bad experience…very disappointed.

We went there at the suggestion from family member but their recommendation did not meet our expectation

Family style dining. Pickled tongue is the main dish we want and the sides are good and generous! Also, of the Basque restaurants, this one is open in the afternoon.
