Champs Chicken - Baker City

This review pertains solely to a restaurant in Huntington, Oregon. The service was terrible, and the food was overcooked. There was an impolite man in a cowboy hat working there. I discovered hair in my mac and cheese, and the cook in the kitchen was preparing food without wearing gloves. It was extremely unsanitary, and I believe the health department should look into this.

When I placed a special order, they made it fresh for me right when I arrived.

The food is great and your cravings are usually satisfied quickly. If something isn’t ready, you’ll only have to wait a short while, which gives you time to grab drinks or other snacks. It’s very convenient and the prices are reasonable for the service. It can get busy at times, but the service remains prompt. Just a heads up: they close the Champs Chicken a few hours before Chevron shuts down, so keep that in mind if you plan to visit in the evening.

I would rate this restaurant a solid 4 out of 5. The menu is appealing, featuring a variety of sauces. The food was tasty, although it seemed like it may have been prepared in advance and just needed a good stir before serving. The dishes were served hot and delicious, including classic mac and cheese, flavorful sweet corn, creamy and crispy potato wedges, tasty mashed potatoes with two options for gravy, and chicken-filled breaded bites that had more chicken than breading. Overall, the food is a good choice if you're looking for something different from the typical nearby chain restaurants. The to-go setup inside the Chevron was convenient, and the service was friendly and quick. While I didn’t have any complaints, I felt it didn’t quite reach the level of 5 stars because nothing was exceptionally remarkable. I would have given it a 4.5 if I could, but I left feeling satisfied and full. Thank you!
