Couldn 't recommend this place highly enough. Very friendly family lives on the ground floor with two guest floors above. Our room was big enough with a large bathroom and a sumptuous view over the hills and plantations from our balcony. Welcomed with tea on arrival and owner 's brother took us up through gorgeous scenery to Lipton 's Seat and then to a really interesting local tea factory. Excellent for the price. Haputale is just a town offering not much more than the usual Sri Lankan flavour but it 's an excellent location for visiting the surrounding country. If you want to immerse yourself in Sri Lankan life, go here. If you want to surround yourself with western tourists and eat pizza, go to Ella.
