Kongress Stuberl - Bad Goisern

We arrived and there were barely any guests, but no tables were clean and we had to wait. Only when we ordered, the waitress told us that they were out of many meals and we had to lose time to find different meals. The food...itself was not what you'd expect from a restaurant: The fish was dry, the vegetables came from a frozen pack and we got fries instead of potatoes. The only good tasting dish was the cordon bleu. I'd recommend going to a different restaurant.

The waitress was very rude right at the start, shaking her head at us. We waited for an hour for the meal, and finally got two meals out of four, without cutlery and then didn't get the right sort of pizza. After that we witnessed...the waitress screaming at some guests, because they wanted to split the bill. The food was not bad, but plain. The only positive was a very nice young waitress, trying to solve everything the other one got wrong or forgot.

We went through this restaurant, looked at the menu outside and decided to try it. Prices looked good, not too expensive. During the Kovid we had to sit outside, but fortunately it was not very cold, only sometimes a cold breeze. We had a soup, the blue fish from the lake and a strudel. They were all very good. The waiter was also very friendly. We had no complaints.

Very disappointed, food, price and quality: not worthy. Service personally: unfriendly, very loud, respectless. Definitely not an Austrian. This restaurant is not recommended.

After the tour of the salt mines and riding the funicular and checking out the shops and pictures of the lake, we had built an appetite. We found this restaurant at the end of the area of shops and decided to try it. There is... a large banquet hall in the main part of the building, but there is a small side door that goes directly into the restaurant. There are not many tables, but they could find us a place. My husband ordered a beer that was good and cold. He had schnitzel, that was the special of the day, so he also got soup and a small dessert with his meal, and I had escalated turkey with ham and cheese inside, baked and deep roasted with French pommes and a really beautiful salad. The plate of food could have fed two people well. Everything was good. The waiters all seem tired of their customers, but we always try to be pleasant and say, please and thank you, always. Sometimes we get a positive answer, but not always. This restaurant was good and our server was great. The toilets are down a long staircase, but they were clean and free, unlike some places. We had no complaints about this restaurant and recommend it when you are in Hallstatt.
