Rifugio Monte Baldo - AVIO

Fantastic. The balcony, restaurant, the staff. We had a room with balcony which was fantastic. We parked with no extra fee in a garage and got picked up with a “golf-cart”.

I 've been again recently and my experience was the same as last time. I think my previous score was a little ungenerous in view of the value for money, so I 'm upping it. This is simple, comforting, home made food, served with generosity. It was 16 euros for four types of primi (arancini, lasagne, pasticcio, pasta with sausage) I mean, it 's not a choice: you get all four! three types of mains (goulash, roll of beef, and roast beef, again all of them), cold and hot greens (cabbage from their garden), potato ' 'tortel ' ', dessert, water, house wine and coffee. At these prices you don 't need to be fussy. It 's perfectly pleasant traditional grub, especially after a good walk in the beautiful hills around. Food has a context. In frankness, the food was not inferior to what I 've found in (supposedly) more sophisticated places not too distant from here. And travel a few dozen kilometers South, to Veneto, say in a fashionable area like Valpolicella, and you find similar grub at twice or thrice the price...

You go here for a stop in the mountain environment, maybe after an invigorating uphill walk, not for a gastronomic experience in itself. Relax, enjoy the happy atmosphere and the clean air. The hosts are friendly, for £13 or so the perfectly decent rustic and abundant meal won't be heavy on your wallet.

Ideale per chi vuole rilassarsi e trascorrere del tempo in mezzo alla natura e con gli amici. accogliente rifugio, personale cordiale, cibo eccellente. Abbiamo trascorso il nuovo anno con gli amici e siamo stati molto bene. peccato per neve, praticamente assente. solo difetto, veramente piccole camere (avevamo avvertito) ma basta organizzare per tornare indietro!

Rifugio perfettamente gestito! siamo stati qui per festeggiare il nuovo anno e siamo stati per cinque giorni. le camere sono piccole, semplici e con bagni davvero di base, ma per essere considerato un rifugio, sono sicuramente di alto livello. la colazione e la cena erano una bella sorpresa. tutto grande e davvero buono. i manager sono persone molto gentili, che ti fanno sentire come a casa. intorno al rifugio molti sentieri per passeggiate e piste da sci in uno dei minuti di auto. All top!
