Restaurant de l'hotel du Cloitre Saint Louis

This is a very well located hotel, close to one of the train stations and within easy walking distance of all the sites in the city. The building and courtyard looked impressive upon entry but that was where the charm ended. It took me ages to find my room and after wandering around I was finally assisted by a friendly member of the housekeeping staff (dragging my suitcases through the restaurant at lunch time to the correct lift can't have been very peasant for diners). The attic room was noisy on Saturday afternoon with some construction work going on accompanied by constant thumping and banging and on Sunday morning I was woken up by all the pigeons in the eaves. You could also hear every move the neighbours made through the thin walls. So, having chosen this hotel carefully for it's supposed atmosphere and charm it was very much a let down. Such a pity.

Living in Lyon, been Avignon many times, this restaurant is my favorite in Avignon, located in an old charming monastery yard, building has turnt to be a hotel, office of Avignon theater festival is also located in the yard/hotel. good food, nice environmentalways go back when i have chance

What a great hotel!! Great location in walking distance to everything in Avignon. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very relaxing environment in an old Jesuit monastery. Queen size bed in large room. Very comfortable.

Good food at reasonable prices. Charming restaurant in a historical setting, overviewing the central cloister, the centenary trees and the fountain.

Stayed here two nights as part of a cycling tour in Provence. I rate it above average--a 3.4, but I guess that rounds to a 3 (wish TripAdvisor would go to a 6 point rating scale). Our suite room was in the old building, nothing special, but but did have modern bath facilities. Very quiet. Wifi wasn't great but considering the thickness of the walls in this old part, not surprising--and it worked fine in the sitting area of the room.The breakfast was good and seating was in a nice area with courtyard view. We also ate dinner here one evening and it was good.The staff were courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
