Le Vintage Restaurant -- Bar a Vin

I’m honestly disappointed, was excited by all the tripadvisor reviews, but then… We were placed in such a narrow spot and could barely move. The elbows of my neighbor were poking me. The food came (too) fast. 5 minutes or so, made me think it was already ready and in a heater somewhere. All the staff was running the whole evening and bumped into us multiple times. Then, we tried to ask to sit outside for drinks after dinner, we were asked to wait by 2 different people. waited for a half hour but no reply, so we just paid for our dinner only, too bad because you couldve earned more from us if youd given us a seat for drinks….. I would recommend you go elsewhere if you are in avignon

Fantastic find. Lovely authentic French restaurant up one of Avignons sides streets. Beautiful food and service. Would recommend and return if in Avignon again.

What a charming place! A well crafted menu, which whilst not massive, has something for everyone. The pawn risotto was great! Good selection of wines and cocktails. And the staff were friendly and efficient. You pay at the bar at the end of your evening. My only piece of feedback is that they didn’t give me the bill and instead just told Me how much it was. I had to ask for a printed bill, and to my surprise saw they had not charged anything for service. The evening was such value for money I gave a healthy tip. They should really put their prices up! We had 4 set menus (starters+main course or main course+dessert) and 2 main courses, they ended up charging us for 5 main courses and 2 set menus ! Everyone makes mistakes and it was a busy night but it's pretty clear they do that on purpose.When i told them there was a mistake on the check, they got super grumpy and refunded me 6 euros. It's a real shame because my friends and I actually enjoyed the food and the waitresses were cool. It seems in Avignon it is common practice to confuse customers with unclear bills. (We had another experience where they overcharged us almost 40 euros). My advice ? Double check even triple check the bills and take notes of what you order.

Good value prix fixe dinner menu at 22€: I had artichoke salad, baked Camembert with chips and a delicious chocolate brownie with cream, ice cream and a peanut sauce. We sat outside in the narrow street, which was suitably atmospheric, and the service was friendly and efficient.
