Bidrage med feedbackThe best fruitcakes are these and college of Ozark's cakes. We need to pick up new years ago
I’ve been ordering the fruitcake for my family for years. It’s second to none.
This is the best fruit cake! Every person I know who says she hates fruitcake changes her mind when they taste this.
No fruitcake fan yet. They always seemed too sweet. This has changed my mind! And I love that I support a good thing! Someone's actually working to support themselves....
I think these fruitcakes are great, and I'm really not a fan of fruitcakes. My recent purchase was pure for Nostalgie. I remember when we first moved to Tampa and found this cake in the William-Sonoma shop. They sold these cakes that were made at the monastery in the actual business, but always at a high price. Mom was so upset when they stopped selling them, but then I found out that the monastery sold them online or by post order form. She was thrilled. We've been buying them around Thanksgiving for over 12 years until Mom died last year. I think that was the first year that I didn't have the fruit cake, although I received the order form by the post sent to my mother. You will send one to you every year if you are a loyal customer. They send them out early because the cakes sell quickly around the vacation. I decided to order one this year, although my husband says he hates fruitcake. We got the can with the fruit cake, which is packed as always in plastic. I know there are other monasteries they make, but this seems to have tasty ingredients. That's just my opinion. You have to try it yourself. I think I like it better because it's not as lazy as the others do with Bourbon. This is actually injected with 2 ounces of rum, although this time I did not taste as much as previous years. However, I could still taste the wine soaked fruit, and all flavors seem good to mix with each other. It is a very moist cake and will fall apart when you try to cut it at room temperature. I was really shocked to see that most of them were gone in a week. I thought I had it for a while, but it seems that my husband really liked it because I noticed that half of it disappeared on the other day when I went to get a slice out of the fridge. I guess this will continue to be an annual tradition for us by Mom. She loved fruitcake and this was her absolute favorite. We think it's her.
