Hideaway Kitchen - Austin

What a fantastic discovery! The Hideaway has a modest, hole-in-the-wall vibe based on its location, but don't let that fool you. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and always wearing a smile. And the food—wow! From its beautiful presentation to the incredible flavors, it's truly exceptional. This place is a must-visit if you’re in Austin!

This was our first time here and it won't be our last. We ate here for Sunday brunch and had a great meal. The restaurant does not take a reservation, but it is counter service. When we arrived, there were only a few people. We had to wait a few minutes until a table is available (it is a seat itself space), but that was partly because it was too cold for outside seats. The atmosphere was cool and casual and even had live music (electric violin). I had the honey butter chicken biscuits that were huge and tasty. My husband had cookies and Gravy he loved. There were many other things we would like to try for future visits.

Please excuse my photos; they really don't capture how amazing the food is. The Hiddenburger is probably one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. If Bob's Burger were a real restaurant, it would be this one. The burger featured bacon jam, aged cheddar, and what tasted like homemade bread-and-butter pickles, all nestled between two soft, fluffy buns. The herbal fries made for the perfect side dish. Plus, Giovanni (I hope I spelled that correctly) was the sweetest host. It was an incredible experience! You have to try it here!

Pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious. Staff was super friendly, and it was easy to develop a rapport with them. Although the dinner menu is one page there is a lot of variety. It is very pricey, but the dishes you get are gourmet. I could see this as a regular hang out place, if I lived in Austin.

Love this place! Came here with a group of 8 and there was a line but we came on a Sunday. There are big long tables that were perfect for our big group. The food was delicious!
