French Quarter Grille - Austin

Tasty foods! Great selection of seafood and good sides. Bread is decent. Had the grilled ribeye with caramelized onions and mushrooms. Great flavors without overwhelming the taste of the meat. Had the red fish special with spicy sauce and it wasseasoned very well. Service was great. Only odd thing was the layout of the restaurant. Some tables have cloths, some don't,the establishment is partitioned into 2 areas with no real rhyme or reason.

Delicious meal enjoyed in a very nice bar setting perfect for solo diners. Friendly bartender service. The gumbo excellent and filling, the beef shrimp cheese tortellini was delicious and chocolate crème raspberry brûlée phenomenal! The restaurantis cozy upscale and appears perfect for a business party or romantic meal. So many wines to choose from as well as a full bar.

The clientele was older, which might explain why every dish was bland. Our waitress was rude; she handed us the check without asking if we wanted dessert, which I ordered only because it was supposedly award-winning. I cannot recommend this place to anyone and will not return for any kind of redemption. We walked in at 7:30 PM and left by 9:00 PM, and I can only imagine they bring shame to the actual French Quarter District.

I walked in looking a bit scruffy, but I was still warmly welcomed and received excellent service. I wasn’t expecting to find such an upscale place in this area. The food was delicious! I had the calamari, and the complimentary roll with butter simply melted in my mouth. I’m not sure what they add to the butter, but it was incredibly flavorful. I definitely plan to return, although not by myself; this seems like the ideal spot for a couple to make their favorite restaurant!

This is a fantastic spot for a date! I absolutely love the artwork, the French cuisine, and the jazz music—it all sets such a wonderful atmosphere. The food is incredible too! You have to try the tilapia and steak, as well as the chocolate crème brûlée. The New Orleans vibe is just perfect!
