Bidrage med feedbackIf you’re thinking of checking this place out, do it! Kudos to the pasty chef! We had the beignets and they were perfect, the blueberry morning bun was my favorite, ten out of ten all around. Our server was very attentive. If there is a wait, no problem you can go up the pastry counter and get a pastry and a coffee while you wait.
I originally gave a 5 star review years ago! I love this place and have so many fond memories here, but the last few times we’ve been the servers have been so rude. Tonight was the 3rd time I apologized to the people I brought because of the rude service. There was also hair that had been fried/embedded into our frites tonight…
Great brunch or lunch spot buried out of the way off Hancock.Ask for Lola she is a wonderful and attentive server. She found out anything she did not know: she even brought a bag of the coffee to show us when we had questions about our cappuccinos. The ricotta is house made and phenomenal. The eggs with squash is a beautiful “brunch” salad. I absolutely will be back.Very dietary friendly.Vegetarian options: Plenty. Not as many vegan but they are there.Dietary restrictions: Very dietary aware and helpful. It does have a sizable bakery so possible cross contaminationParking: If you can’t find a spot in the lot on the stree right near by that means there is so space inside.Kid friendliness: You can but I would not.Wheelchair accessibility: Tech yes but I could see it being challenging
The quiche of the day was fantastic. I appreciated its height and the delightful crust. It came topped with roasted potatoes and had Gruyere cheese inside, which added to its richness. I didn’t want a full Poboy, so I ordered the fried shrimp on the side, pairing it with my quiche and salad. The salad dressing was a lovely white wine balsamic. The breading on the fried shrimp was flavorful and crispy, making it some of the best I’ve had in quite a while. The atmosphere was enjoyable, but I had to rate it four stars because of another customer's dog being allowed inside. While it was a small dog and it didn’t cause much disruption, I would have preferred it to be outside, especially since food was being served. The customer's vehicle had a dog mode, so I’m not sure why they felt the need to bring it in on such a hot day. Despite that minor issue, I had a lovely meal and enjoyed the ambiance. I also took home some pastries and coffee to savor later. The almond croissant was excellent, as was the chocolate chip cookie. I also tried the cinnamon pound cake bar, which was delightful. I inquired about whether they plan to use mirliton squash, and they mentioned they intend to incorporate it into their dishes once it’s in season. I’ll definitely be checking back in around October.
This is a fantastic hidden gem in Austin for a quick meal. It offers a nice atmosphere for conversations.
