El ChipirÓn - Austin

I visited this restaurant for the first time based on a recommendation, and I was both impressed and pleasantly surprised by several aspects. Firstly, the drinks were excellent and the food exceptionally fresh. The mussels with chorizo were fantastic, the Iberico ham was delicious, and the shrimp was outstanding. I couldn't understand why the place was so empty—it truly feels like a hidden gem. I'm definitely planning to return on Tuesday for the paella!

Very disappointed. I look forward to some tapas, but found very limited menu and two of three elements were bad. Calamari was dry, and tiny goat cheese was easy. Steak was good, sangria terrible, and the waiter brought the check while we still eat...

I absolutely loved it! I would give it four stars, but my husband wasn't as impressed. The small plates were quite pricey, which seems to be a trend in restaurants nowadays. We ended up ordering several dishes since everything looked so tempting. I especially enjoyed the cheese board and the shrimp. The cocktails were great as well, albeit on the expensive side.

Excellent Spanish cuisine! The dishes were well-seasoned and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was also quite lovely. I definitely want to return.

For a bit more elegance than other tapas bars, this is the place. A number of different salsa verdes for shrimp and mussels are wonderful. The paella was perfect, a good wine list and the churros with chocolate for dessert topped off. The menu can be a bit smaller than other places but what they do, they do extremely well. And there is sufficient parking in the garage so don't sweat the limited apparent space.
