Bombay Dhaba - Austin

I had a chicken curry bowl from the Reddy Dhaba food cart while it was parked at Tesla, and it was quite delicious. The curry had a great flavor, and I was impressed by how tender the chicken was. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the naan was nice and stretchy—though a bit thicker than I expected, it was still enjoyable. One odd thing was that they placed the salad in the same container as the chicken, sauce, and rice, causing the salad to mix with everything else, but I understand that’s a challenge with to-go containers. Overall, I would definitely eat here again and would love to try more menu items.

Authentic and delicious Indian cuisine! My vegetarian Telugu parents, who are quite discerning when it comes to Indian dishes, really enjoyed the flavors. The dosas were fantastic, and the North Indian dishes were equally impressive. As we’re from Hyderabad, we found the biryani to be excellent, though it could have used a bit more salt. The sauces were well-prepared and flavorful. Additionally, the service was courteous and attentive. The portion sizes are generous, so you'll definitely have leftovers to take home.

I visited this restaurant today and tried the vegetable roll, samosa, masala dosa, and Mysore masala dosa. The veggie roll and samosa were decent, but the dosas were disappointing. They were too thick and overly stuffed with potato curry. The sambar was passable, and the vegetable biryani was also just okay. It seems like those who are unfamiliar with South Indian cuisine shouldn't attempt to serve it if they don't understand the fundamentals.

The food was mediocre (veg Korma), Naan was fresh and best part. I 'm not sure who the man was that walked our food to the table, but he has a serious attitude and an apparent problem with white/black couple. Dropped food on table, didn 't speak A WORD...yet turned around to the Indian couple and asked can I get you anything? Came back to ask other couple how is the food, need anything? Never said a single word to us. Wont be back.

Bombay Dhaba remains one of favorite Indian food places in all off Austin. We've visited most over the last 15yrs but this is consistently one of if not the best.Food: 5/5
