Bidrage med feedbackIn these uncertain times, it's reassuring to know that our favorite local BYO restaurant is still open for delivery. Despite the limited capacity of 10 people, we decided to visit Canton Cafe on a Friday night for some late-night dining. The service was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the sizzling beef and the black chili chicken. We will definitely be returning.
Don't expect top-notch service or fancy decor here, but you're guaranteed to have a great time. The dishes are served in generous portions for sharing, with unlimited rice - what more could you ask for? Don't forget, it's BYO! And make sure to try the delicious crispy pork belly starter - it's incredible.
We ordered sizzle lamb chops with black pepper, garlic choy sum, green beans with salted olives and pork mince, and roast pork bean curd with vegetables casserole. The food arrived promptly, within 5 minutes of ordering, and we dug in right away. My personal favorite was the sizzle lamb chops with black pepper for its rich flavor - a must-try in my book. The casserole was also a hit, with the tofu soaking up the delicious sauce and pairing perfectly with rice. The only critique came from my brother and dad, who both noted the lack of wok hei, a crucial element in Cantonese cuisine.
By far the most delicious Chinese food in Auckland! Love it. The quantity is great and it’s a great place to come with a large group of friends as they offer BYO. Highly recommend this place for all Chinese lovers! We had the Sweet Corn Chicken soup, Fried Noodles with chicken, Black Chili chicken and Chicken fried rice! All were super delicious.
The staff should be commended alone for having to deal with BYO groups every week! Always loud busy and chaotic at canton. <br/ <br/ We had a group of 19 and booked 2 weeks in advance which already was quite hard to secure a booking. Service was polite and helpful, but didn’t interact with staff too much. They are really quick at cleaning tables and organising the chaos. <br/ <br/ Food came out relatively quickly. I tried the fried dimsum, noodles and pork and bokchoy on rice. All these dishes were really good and worthwhile for price point. Serving sizes are large so can definitely share between 2-3. Price is expensive but again it’s a good place to share meals. <br/ <br/ BYO is super cheap at $2.50 per person and you can bring in whatever as long as it’s low (rtds accepted). Also note only one bill per table.
