Bidrage med feedbackWe didn't have a great experience with the owner, who I assume was there. When we walked in, there were two options for going upstairs or moving straight ahead, and the place was completely empty. Along with another group, we were unsure where to go. The owner stood at the back of the bar, failing to say a word to welcome us or direct us. It was frustrating that he didn’t make us feel welcome or offer any guidance. It wouldn’t have taken much effort to say something like, "Hello, please order here." As patrons, we expected at least a friendly greeting. Our interaction with the owner felt off, as if he’d rather not be there, and he came across as rather bitter. He seemed to lighten up when another staff member started working. Apart from the owner’s odd demeanor, once we realized they no longer offered good food, we should have just left. The atmosphere felt cold and uninviting, despite the New Orleans decor. On a positive note, the bidets are heated, which is a nice touch. You’re allowed to bring in outside food, in case you didn’t know. I ended up driving to EggHole to get something to eat and brought it back. I don’t think we’ll be returning to Geaux. I hope others have a better experience than we did.
The flatbread was excellent, the hazy IPA was fantastic, and the outdoor seating was delightful.
Geaux had always intrigued me, and I was excited to finally experience it a few months back during an Elite Packmule event. Thanks to a subscription service from Packmule, I get to visit Geaux every month. I've sampled most of the beers on their menu, and while some definitely stand out to me more than others, I've yet to come across one that I really dislike, which is a definite plus! And that Frosé? Absolutely yes! The food menu is small, but everything is made to order, and even simple items like beer fries or poppers taste really great. Although it's a bit off the beaten path, it's a lovely spot to hang out, especially with the large tables they have upstairs. Plus, they feature a few big TVs for sports events when they're on.
Fun atmosphere with really good vibes Lots of choices on the Beer Menu Staff is great and attentive Highly recommended
Holy expensive beer! It was not listed (if it was it wasn't very apparent) or told to us but the barrel aged and nitro beers were $1 per ounce. So the 14oz barrel aged beer was...you guessed it, $14! Definitely the most expensive beer I've had in the state.
