Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

The food was good, the server brought our food out but never returned. I had to finally go find someone to give us a to go Box, And I let them know I was ready for the bill, Had no idea where our server had gone to. 5 minutes later the server cameout gave us our bill and walked away.

Cold rainy day, my husband and I, decided to have a date day. We came here for lunch, and was seated next to a nice warm fireplace. Everyone was so nice, and the food was very delicious. My husband had the country fried steak w/ gravy, steak fries,and Mac cheese. I had the beef roast w/ gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, and corn bread muffins. Oh, the corn bread muffins wereso very good. The food was served fast, warm, and so very tasty. Afterwards we visited the little store they had inside, andbought a few things.

We waited at the hostess stand for several minutes, and an employee walked by with a to-go order, promising to return shortly. After a few more minutes passed, another employee passed us with yet another to-go order. At that point, someone who had joined us in line approached an employee in the restaurant to ask for assistance. That employee went back to the kitchen and eventually brought someone out to help us. After a while, we were seated and placed our orders. The food met Cracker Barrel's usual standards, but our waitress was hard to find, even though it wasn't a busy time. I finally got a drink refill after having just ice for a while. Next time, I think we'll choose the location we usually visit.

- Update - We talked to a hostess who assured us that the grill was backed up and mentioned that a manager offered to comp our meals. She then tried to locate our waitress. Eventually, our meals were served quietly, but once again, our waitress didn’t check in until we were ready for the bill. While the food was excellent, we really would have appreciated better communication throughout the experience.

I always enjoy dining at Cracker Barrel. The wild Maine blueberry pancakes are absolutely divine, and many of their other dishes are just as delightful. It can get a bit noisy during peak hours, but overall, it’s a great experience!
