Dat Fire Jerk Chicken - Atlanta

As a person of Caribbean heritage who is a long-time resident and worker in the area, I'm always excited when I find a great Caribbean spot in my neighborhood that nails the product and the service! I ordered the jerk pork and curry chicken. The food tasted great, and I'm so glad that the service matched. I really enjoyed the flavor of the jerk sauce! I like that I was notified when my order was ready for pickup. I was a little bummed when I received a call after my order was placed that they were out of plantains and the cabbage salad, but I did appreciate the call.The serving size of the meat was a little less than I would have liked but the serving portion of the rice and peas was generous.Overall, I'll be back for these flavors and to see if I can finally get a taste of those plantains. One thing that has me feeling a guilty though is that they use styrofoam containers. I would love to see a switch to to-go containers that are more environmentally friendly. I'm willing to pay a little more for the food to see this happen so that I can continue to support this business guilt free!

I saw them on IG and figured I'd check them out. The place was clean, customer service was good, portions are good for prices. But the food had no flavor. I'm use to Caribbean food having spice and flavor. The cabbage was plain, no veggies mixed in, no flavor. The j sauce didn't cover my plate and the sauce was kinda bland, I was waiting for that kick or the bite you get after eating j chicken. If they change the taste it would be good. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. I ate it because I was hungry and didn't want to waste my money. ??‍ I wish was better I was looking forward to leaving a great review. Food is somewhat plain considering that you’re expecting more flavor with jerk chicken. I liked the cabbage and plantains the best. Rice and peas a bit dry and bland. Chicken wasn’t as flavorful. They put sauce on the side. There is no public restroom and very little space to order the food. Definitely a quick grab and get out type of place.

I was so sad that oxtails weren't available the day I went, however, my brother and I LOVED the brown stew chicken. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. We got kale for the side and it was also really delicious. I thought the j chicken was okay, but my husband really liked it. The cabbage was amazing, though. They definitely know their flavors here.Definitely want to go back for oxtails. Highly recommend calling before stopping by. They were also out of j pork too.Overall, a great experience. We will be back.

I went for a quick bite to eat for lunch break. I ordered Brown Stew Chicken with peas and rice cabbage with plantains. I got a messy to go plate looks like the browning was added to the chicken on e it was in the to go plate. Food has no flavor due to excessive amount of browning, cabbage had no flavor taste like water and black pepper. Sorry NEVER again close and convenient for no damn reason!!
