Bidrage med feedbackI was disappointed with my experience at 103 West. I thought this would be a great place to take my mom for mother 's day, but now I see i made the wrong choice. The space was a lot smaller than I expected. The food selection varied, but not anything to write home about. Overall, I would give the experience a solid C.
103 West is our favorite place for a buffet brunch in Atlanta. Unfortunately, it is only open to the public few times during the year because it specializes in private events. It is our top pick for Mother's Day Brunch. The selection of food is amazing, the white tablecloths give the atmosphere a more upscale feel, plus the live piano music and flowers. Atlanta needs more places like this throughout the year. We will always go to 103 West for Mother's Day Brunch as something special.
The Easter Buffet at 103 West was outstanding. Much better than we expected. It was elegant and kid friendly.
Very Disappointed. Family of 5 reservations for 2:00 pm on Easter Sunday. Arrived 10 minutes early and we were seated 45 minutes late. Two children became impatient. No where to sit just left standing. Hostess not helpful and indifferent. Even after several reminders that a child very allergic to nuts was at our table , breads with nuts were placed on the table within the child's reach twice. We poured our own bottled water and wine out of delayed service frustration. Finally we decided to just rush through our meal and leave. I did leave a generous sympathy gratuity because the waiters were all so overwhelmed . The problem appeared to be management and the lack of planning.
Disappointing for a Buckhead Life restaurant! Nice to be able to make a reservation (seated within ten minutes of our time) but that was about it. For $72 I was expecting MUCH more. Rack of lamb was so overdone it was tough and dry. Maybe when it was brought out it was medium-rare like it should be but I doubt it. Jumbo Lump Crab cakes were quarter sized like you'd pass around as a hot hors d'oeuvre at a party. Prime Rib was sliced boneless roasts that were small and thin. Yes, I know it's a buffet and you can go back. But comparing this to what you get at Ray's on the River for much less, 103 comes in way less by comparison. I should have known when tables were empty for periods of time. There were some things we enjoyed like the Broccoli Salad, Duck Breast appetizer (this was a rosy pink and juicy delicious), Jumbo Shrimp and the Seared Scallops. But overall I'd have to say that I'm glad we went in the respect that now we know to NOT go again. Oh, and if you go on Mother's Day (basically the same menu), the price jumps to $78. I know Ray's only does Priority Seating-but with their lower price, longer hours, changing menu from earlier to later, my next time would be there. Sorry Buckhead Life but this special event was anything but in my opinion.
