Las Trjas Cantina - Athens

During our trip back to the Shoals of Huntsville, we chose to have dinner at Las Trojas in Athens for the first time. Overall, we were pleased with our experience. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, the service was quick and friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. While the food was quite good, I have to be honest and say that it felt a bit overpriced. It’s possible that dining in the Athens/Huntsville/Madison area is generally more expensive than in the Shoals, but on average, we pay about $5 less per dish at our usual places. We ordered carnitas, a bean taco salad, a small cheese dip, a soda, and a tea, which came to a total of $39.30 (including a tip of $5.70, if that’s relevant). Would we dine here again? Definitely! However, next time I might choose items that are less expensive or just wait until we’re back home to eat out.

The food was fantastic, and the portions were generous, ensuring that we left feeling satisfied. I have to commend the customer service as well; they were exceptional! Our drinks were never empty, and they consistently checked in on our family until we were ready to leave. It was a perfect evening!

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we were truly impressed by the cleanliness. The fantastic service made the experience even better, and we ended up needing takeout boxes because we couldn’t finish all the food we ordered. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, you definitely get what you pay for. The food was outstanding, and we will certainly be back. Additionally, the management kindly stopped by to ensure that everything met our expectations, which was a nice touch!

Stopped at lunch special, the food was pretty good, the service could definitely have been better, but give it the advantage of doubt, provided it was the only server at that time. But with what is said, the only thing that was bothered me when I paid with a $50 bill and I didn't even get an entrance back, but the original ticket with correct change. I had to go back to work and didn't even take too much time to get the right reception. I just got on the wrong way.

I was very pleased with the serves and the food was so satisfying I had a plate that had steak, chicken breast, shrimp and chorizo topped on it. The meat was cooked just right it was juicy, soft and shrimp was perfect. Beans also were cooked with a great taste. The second plate was a stew with shrimp and crab legs served with a side of rice, jalapenos, cilantro and onion absolutely delicious. Our server was also polite, friendly and on his toes. The place is over all very attractive inside. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again when I visit Athens.
