Cloven Hoof Brewing - Ashtabula

Honestly, it's worth more than 4 stars, but the limited beer selection (3 of 5 are IPAs, of which I'm not a fan is worth a half-point for a brewery. Interesting selection of brews with a larger-than-expected selection of ciders. The pilsner was good and crisp, actually halfway between a traditional pilsner and a lager (less bitter . The soft pretzels were some of the best I've ever had. The wife preferred the mustard dip (flavorful with mustard seeds ; I preferred the cheese dip (again, one of the best I've had which the wife said it reminded her too much of Swiss cheese (which is my favorite and her least favorite ... may explain the preferences. It's definitely worth the stop.

Awesome beer with super friendly staff. Love the blood of my valentine and bean baptism; all of their lagers and pilsners are easy drinking, the sours and fruits actually taste like they are labeled, and the IPAs aren’t too shabby for someone who doesn’t normally gravitate towards them
