Bidrage med feedbackVery disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. The disappointment began with laminated menus, awful music, dirty cutlery, a dirty sticky table and a dirty drinks glass. I had pulled BBQ pulled pork croquettes to start, which was dry had very little BBQ sauce with it. I then had burger for main, which was literally the driest burger I have ever eaten in my life. Chips were deep fried kebab takeaway style chips, pretty disappointing considering the price charged. For dessert I had sorbet, which was actually inedible. Not once was I asked if everything was okay with my meal, pretty standard procedure normally. My wife’s plate was taken away once she had finished, despite me still battling through the Saharan burger. To be fair, my wife said her starter and main were nice, but the strawberry cheesecake honestly tasted like chemicals. The most disappointing thing is that we were hoping to reminisce about our wedding reception, which was held at The Little Silver Country Hotel (and was utterly faultless by the way), but instead we left with a feeling we will probably never return!
The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious food at a reasonable price, with good quality and excellent service. They have a great selection of wine, including local bottled ale and Chapel Down wine. It was the perfect dining experience for us.
Food was served hot and well presented. Good choice of menu at a very good price. All produce is Sourced locally. Would defineately eat here again.
Dinner in the restaurant attached to and part of the hotel, was first class. We were promptly seated and attended to at the time requested a good start. Drinks order taken as we gazed and stumbled through a very varied although small menu. There were specials as well. The drinks arrived with warm bread rolls as we were ready to order. The starters offered duck and spring roll bon bons. Excellent deep fried balls full of duck and onion, with a deep rich sauce (and the customary salad garnish). The soup was thick and rich, and also plentiful. Two lovely fillets of sea bream with crushed potatoes and plenty of seasonal vegetables was one main; the other was lamb rump with dauphinoise potato, and vegetables (with a good gravy, not a thing jus). The portion size of the main courses was enough for us to pass on what might have been good desserts they sounded grand anyway. The staff were excellent, there when needed and away, keeping their eyes on things otherwise. Recommended!
Helpful staff and a great small menu with good choices which the chef adapted to suit my wife's dietary requirements. Would recommend.
