Yummy Nest - Ashfield

Love the food in this place!! Only 20 meters from the train station I pass this place every day and was intrigued why this most basic looking Asian cafe is so heavily frequented as people are always in and out - especially at breakfast time. With hesitation I wandered in one day and was greeted with a smile and the best meat (pork or beef) pancakes ($3 each) and scrumptious savory steamed buns ($1.5 each) I have come across in all my travels anywhere. Other kitchen classics such as Rice porridge and noodle soups also cheap and lovely.Its not a fancy place by any stretch, very sparing on décor other than the obligatory waving cat ! I only could seat about 20 people at most and is used mainly as a fast snack take away .

I could eat a roast chicken any time of the day Just the scent gives me a sense of comfort that even burgers and pizza doesn't beat.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! My partner and I stumbled upon it while searching for a quick snack in Ashfield. Their noodle soup dishes are delicious and cost less than $10, their big super soft buns are under $2, and congee is only a few dollars more. It's the best value Chinese breakfast you can find! I think I'll be eating here weekly from now on. Just a heads up, they only accept cash and don't have eftpos.

Found vegan options here: vegan veggie steamed buns and red bean steamed bun great price and quite cozy atmosphere here. Very close to the station, the service is always sweet and friendly. Would recommend for a quick bite.

Gorgeous food, great customer service. Only place to go for true Chinese breakfast in Ashfield. If they opened at 6am people would travel. Otherwise Superbowl in Chinatown is the only other option. I highly recommend.
