Bidrage med feedbackPretty reliable Japanese spot in Ashfield, been going there for years, part of a group I think. It seems to have difficulty attracting servers as it seems the kitchen staff are taking orders and serving them, but the dishes are pretty good for the price-point. Ramen is good, but the stock is not what you would find in a dedicated Japanese Ramen shop, like Gumshara, but it's still really filling. Can't fault the sashima/sushi offerings mostly, but there does seem to be a broad range of different Japanese items on the menu, which being large which must be hard to manage in the kitchen. Would recommend it, and hopefully if the dining scene picks up, they can spruce it up the front of house with a bit with more business.
Does not taste good, quite a disappointment. I ordered the spicy teriyaki beef don but was given the regular teriyaki beef. The dish was then taken back and immediately returned with only 2 pieces of chopped chilli added and the sauce tasted odd… It did not taste good at all.. I struggled to eat it.. My husband ordered the double portion curry, which had a whole mount of white rice with few toppings. This dish tasted okay, not good but also not terrible.
Cute little place, but the food was average at best. The ramen broth tasted really watered down, and considering we were the only ones in there at the time it took ages for the food to come out (we ordered two bowls of ramen and a serving of gyoza)
The food was good with the exception of the photos on the menu looking misleading. If you are not a fan of cream cheese, I suggest avoiding the items which callout cheese as that seemed to be their go to. The service was slow but felt sorry for the waitstaff as there was only 1 person on the floor.
Great value for money authentic Japanese food one block from Ashfield station. The service is always excellent and the food never disappoints.
