The Canarchy Collaboratory - Asheville

The service was terrible—definitely the worst I've experienced in years. Despite several open tables, we had to wait to be seated. It took 30 minutes just to receive a draft beer, and over an hour to get our food, with some items missing from our order. I would never return. We spent 2 hours there just trying to get a plate of mediocre nachos.

This was a really unique and vibrant place. The food was absolutely delicious!

We intended to order several appetizers for the table, but since we were with two children, we decided to go straight to our entrée orders. The food came out promptly and, for the most part, was quite good, though there were a few disappointments. The sautéed greens were initially delicious but soon became overwhelmingly salty. The kale nachos were tasty, but surprisingly, they were missing the kale. When we brought this up with our server, it seemed he had forgotten about it. The loaded mac and cheese was particularly disappointing; it tasted more like béchamel and pasta rather than the 'loaded' dish we expected. Even our six-year-old, who loves mac and cheese above all else, refused to eat it, claiming she didn’t like it. On a positive note, the salads were fantastic, especially the beet and blue cheese salad. The grilled cheese sandwiches were decent, while the flatbreads had great ingredients but were lacking in seasoning — we ended up needing to add salt ourselves. Overall, our experience didn't quite live up to our expectations.

I have never given such a horrible review but somebody really screwed up. This website took reservations for this restaurant for Christmas Eve and even sent a confirmation email the day before which I confirmed. The restaurant was CLOSED when we got there. My husband said that we will never use open table again for reservations but I’m not sure it’s all open tables fault. The restaurant should be on top of this also. We were not the only people to show up to a closed restaurant in a strange city with no where to eat on Christmas Eve. Shame on all involved.

I made a reservation for 7pm on Christmas Eve. When we arrived the restaurant was closed without any notification!
