Jack of the Wood - Asheville

We popped for a beer and the Bluegrass Bruch. So cool. Authentic banjo live music, cold beer and great eats. We have the chicken and waffles which was boneless and awesome. Amazing pub cuisine!!! Absolutely delicious shrimp and grits with Southern greens and my friend loved his Irish style fish and chips!!! The accompaniment of live Celtic music was so charmingly Enchanted! We enjoyed every moment. Thank you, Jack of theWood! Happiness rocks! ?????????????

The original Green Man brewery which was in the basement. Very hip and cool....with a splash of charming. Absolutely loved the draft beer selection and the foll musicians playing was magical. Our server was phenomenal as was the food. Loaded fries wereincredible and the fish and chips were delicious. Definitely make this slice of history a must on your itinerary.

Love this pub in downtown Asheville. The beer selection was extensive with lots of local breweries represented and the staff was extremely helpful. On top of that, just a very cool place to visit?very homey and comfortable.

What a fun this place was! the man and I came for a drink (or 3 and a snack). our bartender was melissa she is excellent! she makes the most amazing drinks (if they like cocosnus around and fruity, she is her gal. I swear she didn't stop a second and also not the guy she worked with. they have constantly refilled drinks and all feel like home. the bar seems somewhat small; I prefer to use the word cozy because people are fantastic and friendly. the band we saw in the evening break was a bluegrass band very funny. they pulled out some great oldies and played some of their own originals. (we didn't go to the back end of the place, so I can't say what was back there. we are planning to visit asheville again. if we do this, jack of the wood is back on our list!
