Carmel's is a favorite. There for a birthday. Made reservation quickly seated. Waitress was FANTASTIC personable, attentive, had suggestions. My creme brulee could have been warmer (sounds so bougie, I know). We both loved our entrees and desserts. Couldn't have asked for better.

We are local to the Asheville area and are trying to branch out a bit and try restaurants that we have not been to before. We had dinner at Carmel's Bistro on a Friday night. The place was not overly crowded but pretty steady. We stuck to appetizers and first ordered the deviled eggs which were very good. We both had a bowl of the tomato bisque. It was pretty good but could have used just a bit more spice and it was only lukewarm. Temperature was likely fine for most people, but we really like our soups piping hot and did ask or server to make sure it was very hot. Unfortunately it wasn't. My wife ordered the bread basket and I got the truffle fries. Both were excellent. We shared the apple tart with vanilla ice cream for dessert. This also would benefit from some more cinnamon and a crumble top rather than a crust top would have made it better. We did enjoy it. There are a lot of nice choices on the menu and we would definitely go back.
