808 Local Hawaiian Grill - Artesia

Food in general, doesn't taste freshly prepared. Katsu was crispy, but rather dry. The spicy matsubi was ok, but overpriced. Had better matsubi from the islands' 7-11's. Mac salad tasted old and was too sweet. Mixed greens salad? It was just spinach grabbed out of a bag. Don't know if it was even washed. Don't bother. The only thing that saved the day was kalua pork; flavorful and juicy. It's obvious that the cashier doesn't want to be there; 1 star service. 3-star just to support small businesses, but don't think we'll be back anytime soon. There are better Hawaiian food in the area.

Not even sure if these guys even been to Hawaii. Worst local food around. I had the big kahuna was very disappointed. The plate came with Spam, Portuguese sausage, 1 egg, 1 scoop rice, 1 scoop Mac salad, also mixed green salad. First of all they didn 't ask how I wanted my egg, they assumed I wanted it Sunnyside (with shells in it), WRONG!!! They assumed I wanted gravy dumped all over my food, WRONG!!! They served my plate with 1 scoop of rice mixed green salad, WRONG!!! Everyone from Hawaii knows that any plate you order is served with 2 scoops of rice, and MIXED GREEN SALAD???!!!...WRONG!!! No mixed green salad anywhere on most any local restaurant menu. Maybe it 'll fool people that never been to Hawaii but this is far from Local as you can get. It 's one thing to have been born raised in the mainland with Hawaii ties, but please don 't slap an 808 or Local Hawaiian on the name of your restaurant. Maybe call it What We THINK 808 Local Hawaiian Food Taste Like . Took my family to eat there learned a $70 lesson. NEVER AGAIN.

This place is amazing. Whomever is cooking in the back is a god. I got The Monoa with macaroni. It was the tastest and softest meat! My husband got the crispy salmon. He couldn't even stop himself! We definitely will be coming back soon. Hands down the best place for Hawaiian BBQ. I also note, they did forget a item. Specifically a Teri Masubi but were kind enough to give it to us without any hassel. So I would suggest just checking your bag before you leave, other then that they were awesome with very kind service. Couldn't get any photos, we were to hungry to wait! Can wait to see you again!

The food is really good here! Mac salad is bomb! Service is friendly. Expect a little wait, bc the food only starts cooking once you order it. With it though! We always order the Momona.

I absolutely loved the combo plate! It had a bit of everything, which was fantastic. I'm really pleased to see such a variety of cuisines and options available in the neighborhood.
