My go-to dish is the cold appetizer sampler, which I often enjoy as a main course with pita bread. I order it both when dining in and for takeout. The flavors are absolutely exceptional, and the pitas are always toasted perfectly. I'm especially fond of the taramosalata, the caviar dip. I have also tried the soups and the Greek salad, both of which are great. While this place is a bit more expensive than the local competition like the Lefteris chain, the quality of the food is far superior. The ambiance features a typical nautical theme with lovely Greek colors. I've never had any issues with the service, and my family has enjoyed pleasant conversations with the staff on several occasions.
2. The seafood is consistently fresh and expertly prepared. The branzino, dorade, fagri, and other whole fish are perfectly grilled or broiled with plenty of herbs, accompanied by lemon, butter, and a side (I often choose horta or spinach). The calamari is tender and comes with a delightful chickpea salad. Our kids constantly ask to return for the children’s menu, which I believe is the best I've encountered anywhere. They usually order the Zeus and Athena—healthy chicken gyros and pita-wrapped souvlaki filled with vegetables. These meals are served with round fries that are unevenly sliced and either air-fried or roasted, resulting in wonderfully crispy thin sections and tender thicker bits. These fries are simply amazing—not greasy and wonderfully textured. 3. I’ve enjoyed sampling the Greek wines from Meraki’s concise but thoughtfully selected list. The Xinomavro from the Boutari winery in Naoussa is particularly easy to drink, featuring red fruit flavors without being too heavy, and pairs well with a variety of dishes like moussaka, imam, and rabbit stifado. Surprisingly, it also complements dorado beautifully. 4. The prices are quite reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. It's rare for all of us to fall in love with the same restaurant, but after several meals at Meraki in just a few months, we’re completely enchanted. We’ll definitely be returning! (cue sinister laughter)
I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the first time yesterday with another couple, and it was a wonderful experience! The food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. Our host—whose name I regretfully forgot—was very welcoming. I will definitely be returning and will happily recommend this place to others. Highly recommended!
The Lefteris restaurants are well-known for their Greek cuisine in Westchester, but other upscale options are beginning to emerge. Meraki is poised to be a strong contender in this growing market. We were warmly welcomed by our server, who had a grandmotherly demeanor and provided a level of service that felt rare after the pandemic. To start, we enjoyed a generous serving of grilled pita accompanied by a dip. Our server's white wine recommendation was excellent—fruitier than many typical Greek wines. However, there was a downside: on the night of our visit, the grill was out of service, which meant several menu items were unavailable. For our appetizers, we chose the fried Cypriot meatballs and the gigandes beans. The meatballs were expertly prepared, combining juiciness and crispiness in every bite. The gigandes beans, served in a light tomato sauce, were far superior to canned versions. Our main course selections were limited due to the grill being down. I ordered La Portena's Pargi, which came sautéed over spinach. The server described the fish as Mediterranean snapper, which seemed accurate. It was a generous serving of firm, white fish cooked to perfection atop a lovely bed of spinach. However, my special roast lamb dish fell a bit short. It arrived as three pieces, each partially wrapped in foil. Although it appeared to be a large portion, it was deceiving; each piece contained a fair amount of bone, fat, and connective tissue. The meat itself was tender, savory, and moist, but there simply wasn't enough of it. The three accompanying potato slices lacked flavor. I did enjoy a Cabernet Franc, recommended by our server, which turned out to be better than I had expected. We took home our dessert, galaktoboureko, which was a generous portion—enough for two. It was nearly perfect: not overly sweet, with well-prepared pastry and fresh-tasting custard. I look forward to returning once the grill is repaired so I can try out more dishes from the extensive menu.
Authentic Greek and Cypriot cuisine awaits you at this hidden gem in Armonk! I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the food, which reminds me of my grandmother's cooking—especially the lamb chops, which are cooked to perfection. You absolutely cannot skip the appetizers: Saganaki and Octopus are must-tries. I've enjoyed a range of dishes here, including Imam, Pastitsio, Sardeles, grilled shrimp, youvarelakia, and Moussaka, and each has been exceptional. The service is top-notch, with an incredibly friendly staff. Don’t forget to save room for dessert—karidopita is my favorite! This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Armonk and is among the finest Greek restaurants I’ve experienced, even when compared to those in Astoria, Queens.
