Shakou — Arlington Heights

Service was great. All of the food other than the sushi is just ok.

Shakou is a disappointment. It was always on the loud side but now it's plain obnoxious. Can't seem to make up it's mind if it wants to be a sports bar, a nightclub restaurant or a disco. Below average food and slow service not helping either. Definitely not my cup of miso.

Ate here twice, first time was very good (4 star experience), the fish was fresh, calamari were crispy and sushi rolls were just right. The second time was a 1 star: the tuna fish of the tartare was not tasting fresh, the rolls were sub par and the calamari were a disappointment: probably fried in cold oil and turned out were oily and heavy. Your mileage may vary, Average 2 star for me

Can't go wrong if you want some delicious asian dishes with a twist!

Go to place for sushi. Fresh and delicious. Their cocktails are one of a kind and definitely worth a try!
