We ate at Rokbonki Japanese Steakhouse for the first time in Christmas Eve. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and our meals soon after and our salad and soup arrived soon after. Our chef then joined us and Kevin was very funny and entertaining. The food was very good. Various family members had various kinds of steak, scallops, and shrimp. I had the Rolbonki Special which was filet mignon and lobster tail. The filet was delicious, but the lobster with egg sauce was disappointing. I've had a version of this with egg sauce before at other similar restaurants and normally it is delicious. This lobster was simply terrible. That was the only downside to our experience. In terms of ambience, the decor is a little tired and the tables are more close together than I've seen at other steakhouses. The service was good although I wish someone had asked us if we wanted drink refills. It also took a long time to get our check after the ice cream portion of the meal. We will definitely be back! Great place for a special occasion.
The stay itself was great just not the quality of food I am used to after going to Benihana ron of Japan ninja and a couple other hibachi places. For four people without drinks price was about $160 before tip. I read some reviews and they said YUM YUM sauce but when we got there they didn't have it so do not go here expecting yum yum sauce . Our cook was funny, interactive and great! However, I definitely won't be back, but again it wasn't what I expected and each person is their own. So if you like hibachi and want to try the place please do and post a review!
My husband and I went to Rokbonki Japanese Steakhouse with several friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. Right away, the service left much to be desired. It took too long to seat our party despite the fact that the table was ready. It took thirty minutes before we were served our soup. The servers were nice but overall slow. Once the cook came out and started cooking, we were treated to a great show. Our cook was humorous and entertaining. The shrimp appetizer, noodles, and vegetables were delicious. For the dinner entrée I ordered the scallops. They were cooked right and were very yummy, especially when dipped in the ginger sauce. For dessert, I had the chocolate ice cream. It tasted fine, but this was the smallest scoop of ice cream I've ever had. Overall, I had a great time at Rokbonki Japanese Steakhouse, and I highly recommend you come and experience this meal and a show.
The food is incredible. I understand this restaurant has been in existence for a long time as well it should. The lobster was exquisite, the steak was tender and seasoned beautifully. The vegetables were great, the noodles very tasty, salad dressing very good. Soup was fine nothing out of the ordinary, and we had a great time
