Bidrage med feedbackIt has been months since I have had pizza because finding gluten-free dough in South America is pretty much impossible. So you can imagine my excitement when I find Los Lenos. The food was absolutely delicious. I got a pepperoni pizza with quinoa crust, and...it was exactly what I needed to cure a 6 month craving. Unfortunately, I have had stomach troubles all night and the little rashes on my body I get associated with eating gluten. Usually I wouldn't be quick to blame a restaurant, except I cooked all of my other meals in the past 48 hours. I'm not sure if it was prepped in a contaminated area or if they use a mixed flour, but I don't think I'll be able to eat there again. Serious shame!
This restaurant is truly overrated. Prices for Pizza and 2 alcoholic beverages were higher than in our home country (Germany). Service was pour, too. Waited for hours. Didn't ask if we'd like to drink more. And the most important thing: The Pizza served cannot call...itself a Pizza. Hardly no vegetables on a Veggie Pizza, just greasy Cheese-mush and a Pizzadough that hard, that a lawyer in America would win any process about lost teeth.
We arrived in Arequipa after a 13 hour bus ride from La Paz, Bolivia. It was late, it was raining and I was starving. Our hostel owner directed us to Los Lenos around the corner and I was so grateful. Service was fast and friendly,...even though it was fairly late in the evening. Food was excellent, my companion enjoyed the craft beer options. I really loved the atmosphere of this place, it was cozy and rustic and a comfort after a very long day.
