Bidrage med feedbackI was hesitant to try Italian food in this area again.when we walked in the decor is a bit dated but the food was delicious! I had a 14 oz ribeye with mushroom risotto and asparagus. The steak was cooked a perfect med rare and the sides were a great compliment. The bread was fresh and the tomato basil soup was great. Chicken saltimbocca with linguini was also delicious. The service was fantastic. I wish we came here first when we were looking for Italian cuisine in Arcata.
For the wait, this place is not really worth it. I understand that italian restaurants usually take longer than most, but this place was not attentive enough to their customer. I came in looking for a specific restaurant that wasn't this place. The worker at the front desk suggested to give them a try and that the food was amazing. Thus, I gave it a shot. When they took my order, they asked if I wanted bread and I said yes. After a good 50 minutes, my food came in and they asked if I needed anything else, and I told them I could use that bread they offer in the beginning. Still took a while for them, and the bread wasn't even worth. However, despite all the gimmicks, the pasta was decent. Nothing too note worthy of the dish. I think the fact that I was hungry coming in and them taking forever made me loose my appetite and I was unable to enjoy the meal.
Decent. Nothing special. I went here on a whim and it was fancy but completely underwhelming. The food was bland and not much choice. I have met one of the past cooks (possibly current but I met him 3 years ago) and he was the most passionate person who wanted things done the right way. I can say that. But I still wasn't a fan of the actual food. Nice servers!
This is my favorite resturant year in and year out for the past 37 years....I originally starting dinning here when it was Bret Hart's and then Bergie's and now Abruzzi. The meals are fantastic. The menu boasts an excellent sellection of choices from the Abruzzi region of Italy. The wait staff is attentive and professional. The open kitchen, and oak bar that runs the length of the dinning room add a special touch to the dinning experience. Chances are one of the owners and consummate Host, Chris Smith, will stop by your table...ask him about the chicken Frascati.
Went a few months ago... it was a mess of an experience. We started our dinner off with appetizers, got our appetizer and ate it. It was really good! We then sat for about an hour waiting for our entree. The waitress comes by and hands us a dessert menu and asks us to look at it and she would come back around to see if we were interested. Mind you we still haven't received our entree yet. She comes to take our dessert order and I tell her we haven't even received our entree yet. Apparently she went on a break and the person that was suppose to cover for her didn't. We then ate our food, got our dessert for free since they messed up. When it came time to pay they charged us 3 times because they couldn't get their card machine to work properly. At this point I felt our meal should have been comped as we were the for well over two hours waiting on them from start to finish. 2 stars because the food was actually really good!
