Akami Sushi - Apex

We come here atleast once a week these days. We’ve eaten sushi all over the country/world and this will always be the best to us. Fresh fish, intimate setting, the service is amazing. Every item on the menu is lovingly crafted and I’ve never had something I didn’t like. I cannot find a single fault with this spot.

Hands down the best sushi we've had in the US. The sake belly nigiri is incredible, and the quality of every roll is top notch. The portions for their rolls is also very generous and are larger than pretty much any other sushi place in the area.

This place is amazing. Get the sashimi moriwase. It is a great value. They gave several pieces of king sqlmon, shima aji, kanpachi, chutoro and akami.Very filling.

Moved to NC after growing up in CALIFORNIA. The land of fresh fish! My sushi place of choice was amazing, MAMASAKE SQUAW. Undeniably the pinnacle of perfectly balanced Sushi. In my time here in NC I have visited multiple 4.5 rated Sushi restaurants and they seem to fail the rating. Rice is always wrong, and makes an attractive roll or Nigri bland. I have on multiple occasions ditched the rice for the fish with the nigiri. GAS STATION SUSHI ?? BULLSHIT! Akami in Apex is the real deal. The rice is perfect, not too much vinegar and not too sugared.I come from a place of thousands of sushi joints and I have worked at said sushi joints .If I could, I give Akami 5?(yes, shooting stars) and ????????

Do not let them be attached to a gas station, stop eating them here. it was the best sushi I had in nc.
