The Coffee House - Angus

Wonderful Café on Montrose High Street a bit tucked away but once you enter they are so friendly and welcoming excellent menu I had there breakfast delicious very tasty and hot coffee superb very clean and tidy worth a visit and I'll be back in the spring.

So the coffee house shuts at 4 supposedly. But when we walked in at 3.30 it was clear that meant the staff fully intended to be out the door at 4. This is one of my absolute pet hates!!! Most of the restaurant was closed off for cleaning, the woman said you’ll have to sit in this area only and then said actually you can only sit at that table (tiny, stuck in a corner. )Oh and they weren’t doing any food now so just tea and coffee. After this welcome , we decided not to stay. Not sure why you bother to open at all if customers are such an inconvenience. And if you advertise you’re open til 4, you should be open and serving properly til then. Does the owner know you’re shutting everything down and stopping serving half an hour early for your convenience and losing custom and good will?

Lunch again today at our favourite Coffee House. Food (unbelievable cheesecake! , coffee and service excellent! Very friendly and welcoming staff in a great old and comfortable building. R and M Thompson

A lovely experience. This is a great little cafe in a historic building so well worth a visit. Coffees, paninis, jacket potatoes, soup, sandwiches and cakes all excellent value. The service was very friendly and pleasant.
