What a gem! The aesthetics is absolutely brilliant. Perfect customer service. First time visiting, from the moment I walked in I felt very welcomed. Food was delicious. Separately, outside they have a bar on the outside, and activities such as cornhole and putt-putt there is a little something for everyone. Adults and kids alike will definitely love this cozy little spot!
I?ve always said this this is best barbecue in the upstate. I?ve usually gone to the Easley location but today we visited the Smokin? Pig of Pendleton. They?ve got plenty of parking ?round Bach (it is on a rocky/gravel lot) and have plenty of signs to guide you. I thought it was cool that if we wanted to choose take out we could walk right up to the food truck beside the restaurant. The menu is simple and easy to order from. The sides were incredible (it was hard to choose just one so I got an extra). They have all the classics (sweet potato casserole, baked beans) and unique options such as Jalapeño cheese grits. The tea was sweet (had to go half unsweet half sweet on my second glass). Most importantly, the barbecue was perfection. We ordered chopped chicken, chopped pork, and brisket. At the tables they?ve got an array of sauces to use as you please. The restaurant?s charm is part of what makes this place so special. The decor is, as you?d expect, very southern. They?ve allowed people to cover the walls with writing which gives it a laid back, personal vibe. Interesting local antiques are scattered on the walls. They had the best old school country hits playing throughout the establishment (inside and out). I was really blown away by the new renovations they?ve made with a beautiful lawn to roam where the old parking lot used to be complete with a stone fire pit. I doubt they struggle with seating there were plenty of choices of tables inside and out. The employees truly seemed happy to be at work. This is something I don?t see often these days. We were greeted with many smiles and our server was very polite and attentive. I can?t wait to go back this summer. It seems like they really have this whole thing figured out!
What a fantastic place to eat and play. The food is excellent, and the site is enjoyable with lots of things to do?all of this at a BBQ restaurant in Pendleton, SC. Made a trip to this place for the first time with a group of four-wheel folks. The site itself has a character unique in how it looks and feels. You order as you come in the door, and you get your drink as you type, then take a seat and wait for the good stuff. Brisket, Pork, Chicken, and Ribs are all available. A fantastic list of sides, way above average for the number of sides and also the tastiness of the sides as well! Loaded baked potato as a side is a killer. Brunswick stew is delicious. And on it goes. It was a chilly day, and the fire pit was blazing, so after lunch, we sat around the fire for a bit, just good stuff. Large gathering spaces, including some old shipping containers now used for play. Check it out sometime if you are around. It was engaging and inquiring and always ensured we had what we needed. We had the Pork, Brisket, and Ribs combo with coleslaw and fries. And finished off the meal with Apple Cobbler. The sides were delicious. The ribs were a little overcooked, but the flavor was fantastic. The brisket and pork were tender, well smoked. If we are back in the area, we will return without hesitation. If you decide to try this place out, we hope you have an extraordinary experience.
We came to the state to do some business and having to ask a local to suggest the best place to eat. This place did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious! If I ever go back again to that area I would definitely enjoy another meal there.
