Bidrage med feedbackWe were SO lucky to find this authentic gem in the middle of the Swiss Alps. My husband and I were driving from Locarno/Ascona to Davos when we randomly chose Post Hotel because it was right off of the highway, and pictures from Trip Advisor looked interesting. This stop truly was special. Coming from New York City/USA, we had never seen such an authentic and charming town. Andeer is the cutest gem of a Swiss town you can find. Now, the food and service (we had LUNCH). Our waitress (younger lady, she told us she was from 2hours from Andeer) was AMAZING. She was sweet, great service, and went out of her way to make sure we understood the menu and tried authentic, local food. She is a very special young lady and I hope others get to experience her warmth! My husband and I both chose a local disk made with “pasta” which felt like gnocchi or pierogies. WOW. Talk about comfort food for the soul. If you stop here, GET THIS DISH! I forget the name, but it was made with pasta, vegetables and a thick soup/broth. We both licked our plates clean and wished for the recipe. We also had a small salad to start, which tasted like the lettuce was picked fresh from the garden that day.If you find yourself anywhere close to Andeer, eat here!
I had heard about this restaurant. I had heard it's great. But it's more than that. It is really outstanding! We had the Chef's Menu and were delighted. I don't want to say what we ate because the originality in combination and presentation of the meals/ingredients are part of its greatness. Just let me tell you that the ingredients are regional and from the highest quality. The wine card is really big and the staff recommendations are very well informed. Another fine aspect is that this restaurant offers an informal atmosphere which is very inviting. We also booked a room in the lovely hotel. So we could eat for as long as we wished. I kid you not when I say: This was one of the best meals of my life! (and I eat out often ;-) ) I urge you not to miss this place if you're by chance in Switzerland or near the Alps. It's wonderful!
This is the best place I've eaten in a long time! The chef cooks every meal to its perfection and the service is incredibly nice. I will come back as soon as I can. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!
We stayed in the little town of Nufenen for a night and was pointed in the direction of Andeer to find something to eat. We really didn't want to spend much time looking around so decided just to give Hotel Post a go because it looked cute! Well, the food was awesome. By far the best meal we have had in our nearly three weeks in Europe. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but my husband and I shared an entree, main and dessert. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Can't fault this lovely little place.
You looking for a great meal and a quiet romantic town? Nothing will beat the experience at hotel post. Andeer is a really small town up in the Swiss mountains right before you cross into Italy. So a very good way of getting rid of your last Swiss Frank's before you will use euros on the other side of the boarder. But let me tell you what a great experience I had. The restaurant is Nicely I decorated for dinner service with some very cool features. Such as personal goods from the chef / owner which tells me, that the chef really cares and loves what he does. The food was superb. Very tasty, beautiful plated and most important served hot. Some places I have visited, the food looked artsy; however food was ice cold. This was not the case at hotel post. After eating course after course and wine after wine it was time for closing hours. Since I had a long journey ahead of me, I decided to ask if there are any rooms available in town. Which I found out that they even have rooms above the restaurant. Since I decided to stay overnight at hotel post i had few more drinks from the digestif trolley and I get joined by the chef ( Benedict) which is also the owner and his beautiful wife (Stephanie) till early morning hours. Did expect anything like this on my trip in Switzerland. I will be back for sure next time I'm in the area. Great food, great drinks, great hospitalityLike a food establishment should be. Well done Stephanie and Benedict
