Bidrage med feedbackVisited in August 2016. Trattoria dell 'Antiquario is located by the port and railway station in Ancona like any busy transport hub this is always going to be an 'honest ' part of town the exterior is unprepossessing and you need to ring the doorbell to enter, but don 't let that put you off we were recommended it by a local and were rewarded. The interior is simple but comfortable, the welcome friendly. We were the first to arrive but were soon joined by groups of local workers, solitary batchelors, families and besotted couples always a good sign if the locals eat there. The menu is simple €12 per person with a choice from 4 or 5 first second courses along with a side dish, accompanied with mineral water, wine (or beer), dessert and coffee. I don 't recall the details of what was on the menu that we didn 't choose; what we ate was tagliatelle al ragu and spaghetti ai frutti di mare for primo, we all chose stinco di maiale for secondo, some with chips (children), some with salad (wife) and some with roast vegetables (me) as sides, home made ice cream (children) and tiramisu (me) for dessert; wine to drink (adults), sparkling water (children) and coffee (me) to finish. The food wasn 't flash but good, tasty and generous portions the primo alone would have done me. My first course, tagliatelle al ragu was very tasty and filling well cooked pasta and a sauce that was full of flavour. The secondo, roast ham hock, is making my mouth water just writing about it two weeks later. The children 's home made grapefruit sorbet was very good, my tiramisu was fine but probably the least impressive part of the meal for me I should have gone for the gelato. Coffee good, strong and not bitter; wine wasn 't sophisticated but matched the food perfectly. In conclusion if you are in Ancona and want good, honest, Italian food, as the locals eat and without the fripperies reserved for tourists, the trattoria dell 'Antiquario should be top of your list.
Tourist Information: Stay away. It's cheap, but you'd have a better italian food experience if you get a loaf of fresh bread and prosciutto from the market and make yourself -un bel panino- instead. It's a fake trattoria, food is not well cleaned and service was disgraceful.
