Varsity Sports Grill - Anchorage

Nice atmosphere. Had a short time to eat, but the service was fast. I chose the French dip according to the reviews here. Wasn't disappointed. Eating is a little expensive for lunch, but the food quality, location and atmosphere did not make it so much focus. I'd eat here again.

A reservation through this Google location was super simple and very nice. The food was good, different flavors when I thought they would use, I'm pretty sure I had an eggplant. Just unusual and refreshing new. Our waitress on the other side was quite upset about something, maybe we took her favorite place, but she loved being as subordinate as she could. It was quite insulting, but I don't think it's gonna stop us from coming back.

Hidden jewel on the UAA campus. You need to enter the Alaska Airlines Center and climb the elevator to find the place. Actually, I remember the kind of restaurants that were often found in Disney Resorts: Clean, well equipped, with attentive service and fantastic views, but quite standard food. Nevertheless, I have no complaints about food. Anchorage is usually a Burger Fries Pizza type of place. Read the menu carefully and you can find hidden gems. For example, I ordered a cup of creamy wild rice and mushroom soup shook my socks off. But remember the views! The dining room overlooking the stadium's basketball court or, in beautiful weather, you can choose outdoor food with panoramic views of the Chugach mountains. Great and very different in town. Finally, you can ignore student reviews that complain about eating points and compare the Varsity with other students eating. They're talking to another audience.

Another quite small new restaurant, it offers a beautiful interior of the new Alaska Airlines Sports Arena through large windows. Also an outdoor balcony with good views of the Chugach Mountain range. Live music occasionally, alcohol, pizza, burgers, this is a great place to go with friends and family.

Miss the bread pudding, seafood chowder, and Kenai Smoked Chicken Pot Pie. Menu has taken a slight step downward (less selection) from when they first opened. Still a very nice atmosphere. Good service.
