Taco Loco - Anchorage

I absolutely love the salsa and chips! Unfortunately, the Taco Loco store has permanently closed, although their manufacturing continues. The good news is that you can still purchase their products, just not directly from the Taco Loco store. You'll need to visit Carrs/Safeway or Fred Meyer to find their items.

Now, here’s a question for you: how many preservatives does it take to make salsa that doesn’t need refrigeration? Taco Loco wouldn't have a clue because theirs is freshly made daily. This is easily the best value for Mexican food I've experienced since moving here. You can enjoy a tasty tamale and taco combo (complete with rice and beans) for just about $7. While the burrito costs a bit more, you still won’t be spending over $10, unlike at Taco King. They also sell ingredients and tortillas since they manufacture their own products. The only drawback is that the deli only operates during lunch hours; otherwise, I'd visit more frequently.

Five stars, BUT no longer serves hot food! Although you can order tamales for next day pick up.
