Back Benchers Cafe

Upon entering this hidden café located in a commercial building, we were unsure of what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find a large collection of books for sale and to borrow. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea surrounded by books from various authors, including those from the northeast and ones discussing US imperialism. The only downside was that the café closes at 6:30 pm - I wish it opened earlier in the day.

I stumbled upon this restaurant when my school friend Wafisha, who was visiting Guwahati from Mumbai, suggested we meet there. I wish I had discovered this place sooner - it may be a simple café, but the food is delicious and the owners truly care about their customers having a good experience. They've even placed books throughout the restaurant, creating a cozy atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner to yourself or a place to hang out with friends, this restaurant is a great option for both.

Mamu’s place has very good salads and a beautiful atmosphere when they go into them forget the crowded streets. the place is clean, bright and they can see the kocher working. sometimes they organize small concerts. there they can meet some of the most interesting people in guwahati. I'm totally suggesting it!
